Representing the National Association of State Foresters, IAWF board member Ann Walker presented the “Community Guide to Preparing and Implementing a Community Wildfire Protection Plan” at the Backyards and Beyond conference last November. Walker, who is the director of the forest health program for the Western Governors Association, also indicated the WGA staff council has approved a reform to the Forest Health Advisory Committee. This reform includes a broadened focus on forest health, woody biomass and energy production, and financial sources.
