Michigan Power Cleaning will donate a UHP brush fire foam rig to a lucky fire department on July 4 for Operation Wildfire.
The fire unit has a 60-gallon water tank, a 2½-gallon foam tank, a 3.5gpm Cat pump producing 1,500 psi, a 6hp Kohler engine, a 200-foot hose reel, and a twin foam gun that can apply Class A or B foam in a straight-stream or a wider white-line pattern.
Last year's recipient was Pembroke Fire Protection District in St. Anne, Illinois (pictured). Located about 60 miles southeast of Chicago, this volunteer fire department has 16 members who responded to 157 calls in 2009, 60 of which were wildfire calls.
