Community-based fire management offers China a chance to manage fire through local participation and partnerships with government agencies.CBFiM tends to be analyzed at a community level, and it can be characterized using the following tree diagram of considerations.
Step 1. Assess the drivers of fire management present within the community of interest, and examine whether internal community drivers or external agency drivers are instigating fire management.
Step 2. Assess the level of community inputs to decision-making toward improving fire management within the community. Use a four-level index or scale appropriate to your community of interest, and make a judgment.
Step 3. Use the inputs from steps 1 and 2 to select the position that your community can most be categorized at present.
