To show its support of the men and women who fight wildland fires, West Coast Shoe Co., of Scappoose, Ore., will for the second consecutive year donate 5% of all revenues from sales of its Firestormer boot to the Wildland Firefighter Foundation.
“Our support of this foundation stems from our deep admiration and respect for those firefighters who bravely protect our natural heritage,” said Wesco CEO Roberta Shoemaker in a news release.
The foundation has been providing recognition and support of wildland firefighting since 1996. The foundation provides financial assistance to families of fallen firefighters, including scholarships to their young children, and is dedicated to educating the public about wildland fire. The foundation also has established and maintained the Wildland Firefighter's National Monument at the National Interagency Fire Center in Boise, Idaho.
